More local police share stats from Operation Impact campaign

Another local OPP detachment is sharing stats from the recent Thanksgiving long weekend traffic campaign titled Operation Impact.

The South Bruce OPP participated in the campaign that ran from October 11-14. The campaign was aimed at enforcing and educating on the "Big Four" which includes distracted driving, impaired driving, speeding or aggressive driving and lack of proper seat belt use.

Over the long weekend, South Bruce OPP officers conducted approximately 111 traffic stops and issued approximately 103 total charges. Some of the charges included:

(1) - Impaired Operation

(1) - Seatbelt

(1) - Stunt driving

Police are urging everyone to take road safety seriously, especially with winter weather and poor driving conditions just around the corner.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
