Business raises over $860 during hospital fundraiser

A local business in Listowel has raised some significant funds for the Listowel Memorial Hospital.

The Kitchen Cupboard and Icebox held a "Souper Fundraiser" on October 11-12, and all proceeds from every bowl of soup, or frozen bucket of soup to take home, is going to the Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation.

After two busy days, KCI managed to raise $864.07.

KCI has been hosting the "Souper Fundraiser" supporting the Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation since 2011. Owner Karen Haverkamp stated in a previous sit-down with CKNX just how important the local hospital is, which is why they do the fundraiser annually.

"We hear every ambulance go by. We know that the hospital is an essential part of our community, not only for the health aspect but for the business community and attracting different businesses into our community. We need a great hospital and our hospital has been growing and providing so many new services over the last number of years," said Haverkamp.
