Hanover woman faces fraud charges

Hanover police have laid almost two dozen charges against a local woman following a four-month investigation.

According to police, the probe began on June 27 when a person reported that their personal information had been used in multiple fraudulent attempts to obtain credit cards.

On Wednesday, police arrested a 33-year-old woman and seized several electronic devices from a Hanover home.

The woman faces 23 fraud-related charges including:

  • Fraud Under $5,000

  • Attempted Fraud Under $5,000 (x8)

  • Forgery (x9)

  • Fraudulent Use of Credit Cards (x5)

She has since been released from police custody with a future court date.

Hanover police are reminding everyone to safeguard their personal information to prevent identity theft and fraud-related crimes.
