Four month baby assaulted, woman arrested

A North Bruce Peninsula woman was arrested in connection to an assault on a four-month-old baby this week.

Hanover police said the incident happened early Wednesday morning.

The baby was taken to Hanover and District Hospital before being flown to a London hospital by air ambulance in serious but stable condition.

The baby has been released in to the custody of Children's Aid Society. They are expected to make a full recovery.

A search warrant was also executed by police in connection to the case at a motel room Wednesday evening.

The 23-year-old woman is charged with assault causing bodily harm and failing to provide the necessities of life.

She has been released on conditions to attend court in Walkerton.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
