Two seniors killed in Perth East crash

A serious two-vehicle crash at a Perth East intersection has claimed the lives of two people.

A vehicle and commercial vehicle collided at Perth Road 121 and Line 67 south of Millbank just before 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Two people in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

Perth OPP have identified the pair as a 75-year-old and 76-year-old from Woolwich. Their names have not been released.

The driver of the commercial vehicle was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash kept Perth Road 121 between Perth Line 72 and Line 67 closed for several hours while the OPP traffic incident management and enforcement team were on scene. It has since reopened.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dash-cam footage to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
