Man accused of repeatedly cutting Hanover phone, internet lines

Charges have been laid against a 40-year-old man after internet and phone lines in Hanover were cut three times over the past three weeks.

Hanover police were called about the intentional cutting of Bell Canada lines that caused service disruptions to 40 local customers on three occasions. The investigation led police to arrest a 40-year-old man of no fixed address on Friday.

The man, whose name was not released, was taken into custody without incident, police said.

He is charged with three counts of mischief and two counts of breach of probation and has since been released with a future court date.

According to police, the service disruption saw at least one business lose thousands of dollars in sales.
