Search continuing for driver in hit-and-run that injured police officer

OPP are renewing calls for help identifying a driver who took off after hitting a police officer in North Perth nearly a year ago.

Police were on Davidson Avenue North as part of an investigation just before 8 p.m. on December 6, 2023 when a vehicle drove at one of the officers and a police cruiser, hitting both.

The officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries and the cruiser was significantly damaged, police said.

The vehicle involved has since been found, but police have yet to find the person who was behind the wheel at the time.

As the investigation continues, police released a photo of the suspect publicly on Wednesday.

The driver is described as a Caucasian woman with maroon hair and thick, black framed glasses. The front seat passenger was said to be a Caucasian man, with brown bushy hair and brown beard. He was wearing a fluorescent construction coat.
