High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A resident of Huron East was the victim of a recent fatal single vehicle crash.Huron County OPP, paramedics and firefighters were called to the scene of a collision on Harriston Road in Morris-Turnberry just after 6:20 a.m. on Saturday, November 23.Upon arrival, emergency services located a damaged SUV and the lone driver. The driver was transported to a local hospital and later transferred to a London hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.The cause of the collision is being investigated.The deceased is an 82-year-old resident of Huron East.
