UPDATE: Road reopens after one person killed in crash involving snow plow east of Listowel

An early morning collision involving a plow truck east of Listowel has left one person dead.

Emergency crews were called to Perth Line 86 between Perth Road 136 and Perth Road 140 after a passenger vehicle and plow collided just after 6 a.m. on Thursday.

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. That person has been identified as a 33-year-old Gowanstown resident, but their name has not been released.

The plow driver was not hurt, Perth OPP said.

Perth Line 86 between Perth Road 131 and Perth Road 140 was closed while the OPP traffic collision investigation team investigated the cause of the crash. At 9:15 a.m., police indicated the stretch of road would likely remain closed for several hours, and it officially re-opened just after 3 p.m.

Anyone with information about the collision, including dash-cam footage, is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
