Extensive damage after roof collapse at historic hotel

Heavy snowfall and rain overnight Saturday in Bayfield are believed to have caused a roof collapse at the historic Albion Hotel.

The building will be closed for an extended period.

It was empty at the time and no one was injured.

"Our hearts go out to our staff as they will also be impacted by this," the hotel said in a social media post. "We will be contacting everyone with reservations and be refunding all room bookings during the closure."

More to come.
