A fresh dumping of snow is on the way for midwestern Ontario.
Environment Canada has issued snow squall warnings for much of the region, while some areas are under a blizzard warning.
The snowfall is the result of more lake effect snow squalls moving inland from Lake Huron. Some areas of midwestern Ontario that are currently under a snow squall warning could see up to 30 centimetres of snow by Friday.
But for areas that are under a blizzard warning, which includes Grey County, southern Bruce County, and northern Huron County, snowfall amounts of up to 80 cm by Friday are possible.
"Lake effect snow squalls off Lake Huron are forecast to develop later today (Wednesday) or tonight. Strong westerly winds gusting up to 80 km/h will develop late overnight into Thursday morning resulting in widespread blowing snow with near zero visibility," the weather agency said. "Winds should ease somewhat by Thursday afternoon, although heavy snowfall will continue into Friday. Travel is expected to be difficult to nearly impossible."
Drivers are advised to adjust their speed accordingly and leave extra space between vehicles.
