Pedestrian killed near Owen Sound

A pedestrian is dead after a collision near Owen Sound.

Just before 9 p.m. Tuesday, emergency crews were called to Highway 6 near Grey Road 18, where a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.

"The pedestrian, a local 41-year-old was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased," the Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release. "The identity of the victim will not be released due to the privacy of the family."

Highway 6 was closed between Story Book Park Road and Grey Road 18,but has since re-opened. 

An investigation involving the Grey Bruce OPP and the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement continues.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
