One person arrested following recovery of stolen vehicle

A Harriston man is facing charges following the recovery of a stolen vehicle.

Wellington County OPP officers were patrolling on December 18 at 7:30 a.m. when a report came in of a recent stolen vehicle in Harriston.

Officers quickly responded and located the vehicle, and arrested a 36-year-old resident of Harriston at the scene.

As a result, the accused is facing a charge of theft of a motor vehicle. The accused has since been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on January 24, 2025.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
