New crosswalk overhead lights in Goderich

Motorists and pedestrians in Goderich will notice new crosswalk overhead lights on Bayfield Road. According to The Huron County OPP, the intersection at Bennett Street East is often busy with students and other residents crossing Bayfield Road, so the new lights will help enhance public safety.

Sheila Donatis has been working as a crossing guard in Goderich for over 30 years. She said she thinks the lights will help ensure drivers obey her stop sign and make the crosswalk safer.

"Traffic safety is everyone's responsibility," said Constable Craig Soldan, Community Safety and Media Relations Officer.
