Bruce-Grey residents are being invited to lace up their skates for three, free public skates being held at local arenas over the holidays.

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MP Alex Ruff is hosting the trio of skating events. The first will be held at the Meaford Community Centre at 151 Collingwood Street West from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on December 27. The second skate goes at the P&H Centre at 269 7th Avenue in Hanover from 11 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. on December 30 and the final skate is planned for the Tara Arena at 150 Hamilton Street in Tara from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on December 30.

“This holiday season, we’re bringing communities together for some skating fun,” Ruff said in a statement “It’s a great opportunity to stay active, enjoy the festive atmosphere, and make memories with loved ones.”

The skates are open to all ages and skill levels. Registration is not required, but those who do plan on attending are reminded to dress warmly as the rink will be cool.
