'I’ll carry on as usual': Owen Sound man wins $1M lotto prize

An Owen Sound man has no immediate plans to change the way he lives after winning a staggering $1 million in the lottery.

Barry Anstett took the top prize in the Triple Millions main draw on August 29. It was his first big win after years of playing Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49.

"I was at the store when I scanned my ticket and discovered my win,” Anstett said while picking up his windfall at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “I was certainly surprised and a little anxious, but very excited as well.”

Anstett said when he told his family of his lucky win, they initially didn't believe him.

As for what the Owen Sound resident plans to do with the cash, it remains to be seen.

“I plan to let this win sink in a bit before making any decisions about what comes next. For now, I’ll carry on as usual,” Anstett said.

Triple Millions was a limited time OLG game that was offered between June and August. The winning ticket was sold at the Canadian Tire Gas+ on Balsam Street in Collingwood.
