Cocaine, taser seized after single-vehicle crash near Hanover

Two people are facing charges after South Bruce OPP seized cocaine and a taser at a crash site near Hanover.

Police were called about a vehicle that had crashed into the ditch long Bruce Road 4 in the Municipality of Brockton just before 9 p.m. on Monday.

An undisclosed quantity of cocaine, a taser, and ammunition were seized after officers determined the pair in the vehicle were in contravention of release conditions.

A 36-year-old from Barrie is charged with possession of ammunition contrary to prohibition order, carrying a concealed device, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of drugs, careless driving, driving while suspended, and failure to comply with an undertaking.

A 27-year-old from Barrie is also charged with failure to comply with an undertaking.

The 36-year-old appeared for a bail hearing on Tuesday where he was remanded into custody.

The 27-year-old is scheduled to appear in court on January 22.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
