Large amount of fentanyl seized by Owen Sound police

Owen Sound police are removing a large amount of fentanyl off the streets.

On Saturday, officers were called to a home on 3rd Ave. E for a potential domestic assault incident.

As part of the investigation, police obtained a search warrant and ended up finding fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine. According to police, the amount of fentanyl seized amounts to over 2,000 individual doses.

The drugs are believed to be worth around $47,000.

As a result, a 47-year-old man was arrested and handed 22 different charges. They include robbery, uttering threats, assault, assault with a weapon, sexual assault, forcible confinement, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, and possession of fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine for the purposes of trafficking.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
