Goderich closes Memorial Arena

The Town of Goderich has closed the Memorial Arena until further notice.

The arena hasn't had ice sheets since 2018, but still offered some floor-based sports as well as other events.

However the town says the aging infrastructure has reached a point that significant work is needed to address safety and accessibility concerns.

The town has been looking to find a long-term solution for the facility for years, assembling a Memorial Arena Task Force last year.

The task force will be holding a hybrid meeting this Monday, January 6, at 10 a.m.

Goderich encourages those who wish to attend to contact the Town Clerk. For more information, visit the town website.
