Ongoing investigation brings large police presence to Crediton

Provincial police in Huron County are reassuring residents in Crediton there is no risk to public safety as officers flood the area for an ongoing investigation.

Shortly after 6 a.m. on Wednesday, OPP asked people to avoid Victoria Avenue between Parr Line and Ausable Line while a search warrant was carried out.

Police offered no details about what officers were looking for or what the investigation pertains to.

The increased police presence was expected to remain throughout the morning. By the afternoon, police announced two adults were arrested. They have been charged with multiple criminal offences.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
