Durham man confirmed as victim in stabbing death

The West Grey Police have confirmed the identity of the man stabbed to death on Saturday.

Travis Hopkins, 35, was killed in an altercation on January 4.

Scott Timbers, 36, of Thornton, is now facing charges of second-degree murder. Timbers appeared in Walkerton court Thursday.

The investigation is ongoing according to police.

According to his obituary, Hopkins was a big member of the local fishing community, and the son of Zok and Anne Hopkins.

A come and go celebration of his life will be held at the Durham Legion on Saturday, January 18, from 1 to 4 p.m.
