Two people charged following retail theft

Huron County OPP have charged two London residents following a theft investigation.

On January 7 just before 8 p.m., police responded to a report by staff at a Goderich retail store who claimed a theft had just occurred.

Descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle were given to investigating officers. Police later received a report of the same vehicle parked on Huron Road near Seaforth. Officers arrived and located the two alleged suspects nearby, and they discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier from the City of London.

Officers arrested the two suspects and stolen items and a prohibited knife were seized.

As a result, a 28-year-old and 35-year-old, both from London, have been charged with numerous offences including theft, possession of property obtained by crime and unauthorized possession of a weapon.

Both of the accused was processed and held in custody for a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich, where they were remanded into custody.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
