One person arrested in incident near Brockton

South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a weapons incident in the Municipality of Brockton in Greenock Township Saturday.

Police said the Emergency Response Team, K-9 and aviation were called to Schmidt Lake Road just after 2 p.m. north of Chepstow.

One individual was located in an isolated area the road and taken into custody without incident.

A 19-year-old of Arran-Elderslie is now facing charges including unauthorized possession of a firearm, three counts of failure to comply with release order, and possession of a schedule I substance.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
