County councillor Elected Chair of OPP Detachment Board

Wellington North Mayor Andy Lennox has been elected the Chair of the Wellington County OPP Detachment Board.

At the January 8 Wellington County Council meeting, Lennox was elected Chair for the 2025-2026 term.

The Wellington County OPP Detachment Board is the legal entity and authority for the organization and is "ultimately accountable for the proper conduct of the organization's business," according to a county release.

The Board is further responsible for the provision of police services and for law enforcement and crime prevention, generally determined after consultation with the Detachment Commander.

“On behalf of Wellington County Council and staff, I’d like to congratulate Councillor Lennox on being elected Chair of the Wellington County OPP Detachment Board,” said Warden Chris White. “Councillor Lennox brings a lot of experience to this role.”
