South Huron resident charged in retail theft incident

A South Huron resident has been charged following a retail theft on January 12, 2025.

Huron County Ontario Provincial Police were contacted by staff at a store north of Grand Bend on January 15 with details of the theft, including a suspect and vehicle description.

The 45-year-old suspect was identified and arrested on January 16. They face a charge of Theft Under $5,000 and will appear in court on February 10, 2025.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
