Update: Heavy police presence in downtown Stratford ends

Police in Stratford say things are back to normal in a section of downtown.

In a post on "X", the Perth County OPP said some of its officers, along with Stratford Police Service officers, were engaged in an investigation in the area of Ontario Street and Erie Street.

Perth County OPP and Stratford Police Service asked that the public avoid the area. However, a follow up post from Stratford police said the investigation had concluded and the area roads had re-opened.

The OPP has not yet said what the investigation was about.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
