Walkerton to host "Battle of the Badges" charity hockey game

Local police and firefighters will be battling on the ice for a good cause in Walkerton.

On February 17 for Family Day at the Walkerton Community Centre, members of the South Bruce OPP and the Walkerton Fire Department will face off in a "Battle of the Badges" charity hockey game.

Puck drop will be at 12 noon, with a public skate beforehand from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

There will also be indoor and outdoor activities starting at 9:00 a.m., which includes touch-a-truck and sleigh rides. Admission is by donation. Funds will go towards local initiatives that benefit the community.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
