Police arrest late night prowler

An Arthur man is facing charges after allegedly sneaking around on several properties late at night.

On February 7 around 9:30 p.m., Wellington County OPP officers responded to a report of a prowler in the area of Wellington Road 109 near First Line in Arthur.

Officers were told a person had been wandering onto several properties and acting in a suspicious manner. Police managed to locate the alleged suspect and arrest them without incident.

Now, a 61-year-old Arthur man has been charged with Trespassing at Night and Obstruct Police. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice-Guelph on March 14, 2025 to answer to the charges.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
