Arran-Elderslie man charged with assaulting police

South Bruce OPP have charged an Arran-Elderslie with assaulting an officer after responding to an incident Thursday night.

Around 8 p.m. on February 13, police received a report of a disturbance at an address along 1st Avenue South in Chesley.

According to OPP, upon arrival, "an individual became assaultive with officers." However, no injuries were sustained by police or the accused.

The 35-year-old man was arrested and charged with assaulting police and obstructing peace officer.

The accused is set to appear in Walkerton court next month to answer to the charges.
