Man charged after gun spotted at Perth East Public Library

Charges have been laid against a 48-year-old man after a person was seen waving a gun at the Perth East Public Library.

Perth OPP were called to the library in Milverton around 10 a.m. on Saturday. Officers were told a man was "brandishing" a firearm.

Officers arrived and after an investigation arrested a 48-year-old Mitchell man. He is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, mischief, and failure to comply with probation order.

No injuries were reported in relation to the incident.

The gun was determined to be an airsoft gun, police said.
