Gateway Centre hosting seminar on rural sports

The Gateway Centre for Excellence in Rural Health is hosting an upcoming seminar about rural sports.

The free webinar on Tuesday, March 4 from 12-1 p.m. via Zoom is called “Rural Sport and Recreation."

The seminar will feature lead speaker, Dr. Kyle Rich, who will review research on institutional structures shaping rural sports and recreation organizations. He will be joined by David Shulist to talk about the innovative and creative ways people in rural communities play and organize sports.

Dr. Rich is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sport Management at Brock University. David Shulist is a councillor (and former Mayor) in the Township of Madawaska Valley.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
