Missing Howick Township boy found safe

Provincial police in Huron County are thanking the public for their help in finding a 9-year-old Howick Township boy who went missing Wednesday afternoon.

The boy was reported missing to police in the evening. He had not been seen since around 5:30 p.m. when he was spotted walking on a road in Gorrie, just outside of Molesworth. At the time, police also advised the boy may have been operating a side-by-side.

Early Thursday morning police issued an update that the boy had been found and was safe.

"Due to the teamwork between police, local emergency services, and the general public in the area, [the boy] was eventually located and found safe and without injury," police said. "Police and family members would like to thank everyone for their assistance and getting [the boy] back home."
