Owen Sound police nab two impaired drivers in two days

The Owen Sound Police Service has taken two alleged impaired drivers off the road following a pair of weekend collisions.

On Friday night, police were called to the intersection of 10th Street East and 9th Avenue East to a two-vehicle collision.

Police said there were no injuries, but there was significant damage to both vehicles.

The driver of one of the vehicles, a 64-year-old woman from Orleans, was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

She has had her licence suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The second crash happened early Sunday morning at the intersection of 2nd Avenue East and 9th Street East.

Police said they were called at around 3:50 a.m. to a crash involving an SUV and a city snowplow.

There were no injuries but there was significant damage to the SUV.

A 43-year-old Owen Sound woman was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle, was issued a 90-day licence suspension and he vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Both women will appear in court this month.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
