Vehicle crashes into hydro pole, knocks out power west of Owen Sound

One person was taken to hospital after a single-vehicle crash west of Owen Sound.

Emergency crews were called to Highway 21 between Grey Bruce Line and Concession 11 around 9 p.m. Thursday where a vehicle had slammed into a hydro pole.

The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment, Grey Bruce OPP said.

The crash temporarily knocked out power to area residents along Highway 21 west toward Springmount. The roadway was closed while hydro crews worked to repair the damage

Hydro was restored and Highway 21 reopened around 2:30 a.m. on Friday.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
