Police seek man who was in Markdale store prior to robbery

While the search for the suspect in a Markdale convenience store robbery continues, Grey Bruce OPP are now also looking for a man who was inside moments before the hold up.

The incident happened at the Toronto Street store around 9:15 p.m. last Thursday. A woman walked in, announced it was a robbery, and demanded cash. She then took off with approximately $150 in an unknown vehicle that was last seen heading south on Highway 10 toward Flesherton.

On Tuesday, OPP said they want to speak with a man who was at the store at the same time as the suspect.

He is described as White with brown hair and was wearing a quicksilver sweater, a ball cap, and sunglasses.

Additional photos of the female suspect were also released Tuesday in hopes someone will be able to identify her.

Police have described the suspect as a Caucasian woman, roughly 5'2'', with a very thin build, deep feminine voice, and fingernails painted bright red with sparkles. At the time of the robbery, she was wearing a camo baseball cap, a "Caterpiller" grey hoodie, black pants, white shoes, a red bandana, and ski goggles.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

Police are asking anyone who can identify the suspect or who has surveillance video from around the time of the robbery from the area of Toronto Street and Highway 10 South toward Flesherton to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
