Scarborough teens charged in Georgian Bluffs assault and robbery

Two teenagers from Scarborough are facing charges in connection with a summer robbery and assault in Georgian Bluffs.

The robbery happened at a business in the area of Highway 6 and Highway 21 the evening of August 25, 2024.

According to Grey Bruce OPP, a security guard confronted the thieves who allegedly proceeded to steal less than $5,000 worth of store merchandise before taking off. The security guard and a manager were assaulted while trying to stop the thieves.

No serious injuries were reported, but approximately $200 damage was caused to store property.

Following a lengthy investigation, police arrested two suspects last Thursday.

A 17-year-old from Scarborough is charged with two counts each of robbery with violence and assault with a weapon.

A 15-year-old from Scarborough is charged with one count each of robbery with violence and assault with a weapon.

Their names will not be released due to their age.

A third suspect is still being sought, police said.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
