High-speed fibre optic service coming to Gobles Grove

A neighbourhood in Saugeen Shores will soon have access to high-speed fibre optic internet service.

Bruce Telecom says the Gobles Grove area will soon have access to the service following six months of construction.

During that work, 11 kilometres of fibre optic cable were installed. Nearly 400 homes in the area will have access to the upgraded service and connectivity.

The Gobles Grove project is the third phase of the Bruce Telecom’s commitment to bring Fibre Optic internet technology to all properties in Port Elgin.

The service should be up and running at the start of May, according to Bruce Telecom.

"We have been working closely with local contractor Weber Contracting to install the fibre, and they are just two weeks away from completing construction. We expect to begin connecting customers to the new high-speed fibre internet the first week of May," said Bruce Telecom Director of Customer Service Stephanie Brunato.
