Masked thieves target Owen Sound convenience store

Owen Sound police are looking for suspects after a robbery at a west-side convenience store.

According to police, five people wearing masks went into the unnamed store Friday afternoon and began filling backpacks with merchandise. The group then took off without paying.

The clerk was not threatened or hurt, but roughly $800 worth of store property was stolen, police said.

Police have identified two suspects, one of whom has been arrested. Police identified that individual as only a "male youth".

Work to identify and arrest the remaining suspects is ongoing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
