Vandalism at Mount Forest businesses leads to charges

Police have arrested and charged a Mount Forest resident following a property damage investigation in the town.

Between March 11 and 12, police received reports of property damage at two separate businesses on Industrial Drive in Mount Forest.

It was alleged that a suspect came into one of the business properties and damaged two parked vehicles. The same suspect was alleged to have gone to another business and damaged a security camera.

Following the investigation, Wellington County OPP arrested and charged a 51-year-old from Mount Forest with two counts of mischief and two counts of possession of break-in instruments.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
