Four youths arrested, one still sought in Owen Sound store robbery

Owen Sound police are urging the fifth suspect in a convenience store robbery in the city last week to turn themself in.

According to police, four suspects in the March 28 incident have been arrested and charged with theft under $5,000, wearing a disguise with intent, possession of property obtained by crime, and obstructing police.

Their names are not being released as all four are under the age of 18, police said.

The police investigation determined five masked people walked into the west-end convenience store and began loading backpacks with merchandise before taking off.

The store clerk was not hurt or threatened during the incident.

Roughly $800 worth of property was stolen, police said.

In a statement issued Wednesday, police encouraged the last suspect wanted to surrender to the Owen Sound Police Service.

The investigation is continuing.
