Conservation authorities want respect of land from motorized vehicle riders

Grey County, Bruce County, Grey Sauble Conservation Authority, and Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority are asking people to respect conservation lands.

Those four entities are issuing a joint call for greater respect for trails, beaches, forests, and conservation lands.

There have been numerous instances of the illegal use of motorized vehicles, such as ATVs, on conservation lands where the use of such vehicles is not allowed.

This illegal use of vehicles causes damage, disrupts natural habitats, and diverts critical funding away from recreational improvements.

To protect public lands, enforcement efforts are ramping up in 2025. Riders caught operating motorized vehicles illegally may face fines, impoundment, or charges under municipal bylaws and provincial regulations.
