Measles vaccination clinic coming to Listowel

Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) will hold a measles vaccination clinic next week as cases in the region continue to rise.

According to the latest data from Public Health Ontario, there are 94 cases in the Health Unit as of April 9. That is the third-most cases for a health region in the province, trailing only Southwestern Public Health and Grand Erie Public Health.

The clinic will run in Listowel at the Steve Kerr Memorial Complex (front room) on Monday, April 14, from 1 to 5 p.m.

The clinic is open to infants six months of age or older, children, and individuals born in or after 1970 who have not had a first or second dose of measles vaccinations.

The Health Unit says two doses of measles containing vaccine are needed for the best protection (over 97 per cent effective) against measles.

Appointments are required and can be booked online. Go to the HPPH measles page to schedule your appointment or learn more about the ongoing outbreak.
