Knife pulled on officers probing suspicious person report

Charges have been laid against 30-year-old man after police responding to a suspicious person report in Kincardine were threatened with a knife.

South Bruce OPP were called to a home on Highway 9 just after 8 a.m. on Sunday. Police were told a suspicious person had turned up on the property and was acting aggressively toward the homeowner.

Upon arrival, police were met by a person who brandished an edged weapon toward officers, police said.

The person was eventually taken into custody without injury.

A 30-year-old man from the Municipality of Kincardine is charged with one count each of assaulting police with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and four counts of failure to comply with probation.

The man appeared for a bail hearing and was remanded into custody, police said.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
