Brockton driver charged with hitting pedestrian

South Bruce OPP have charged a 27-year-old Brockton resident after a collision involving a pedestrian in downtown Walkerton Wednesday afternoon.

Officers and paramedics responded to a call around 12:15 p.m. at the intersection of Durham Street East and Colborne Street South.

According to police, a 64-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while crossing the road. They were transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver has been charged careless driving causing bodily harm.

OPP is asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
