Man surrenders to police after Saugeen Shores assault

An assault charge has been laid after an incident in Saugeen Shores that left a man with serious injuries.

According to Saugeen Shores police, a man showed up at police headquarters on Sunday to turn himself in for assaulting another man inside a home in the town.

At the same time, a call came in from a man stating he had just been the victim of an assault.

Officers went to the home and found the man with significant injuries. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

A 47-year-old man is charged with assault causing bodily harm.

Police have reassured the incident was not random as the men were known to each other.
