Durham Street Bridge closing overnight

The Durham Street Bridge in Walkerton will be fully closed Monday night for about six hours.

The closure will run from 10 p.m. on Monday, May 19, until 4 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20.

The closure is needed to shift the alternating lanes from the south side of the bridge to the north side. Once the closure has ended, the bridge will return to alternating traffic with a single lane closure using temporary traffic lights.

During the closure, motorists and pedestrians are asked to use alternate routes, to be patient and drive safely.

The bridge restoration is expected to be completed later this year.
