Lobb reappointed as Conservative Shadow Minister for Digital Government and AI

Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb has been reappointed to the Conservative Shadow Cabinet, continuing his role as Shadow Minister for Digital Government while taking on the added responsibility of Artificial Intelligence.

The announcement came as Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre unveiled his Shadow Cabinet for the 45th session of Parliament. The lineup is focused on jobs, affordability, and public safety.

Lobb says he’s grateful for the opportunity to continue holding the federal government accountable on digital issues, especially with the rapid evolution of AI technologies.

"Understanding the risks and benefits of artificial intelligence is more important than ever before," Lobb said. "Conservatives recognize the value AI and digital innovation can bring to business and government, but we must also protect jobs and safeguard Canadians’ privacy and rights."

Lobb has served as Shadow Minister for Digital Government since October 2022.
