High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Perth County OPP are requesting the public's help in solving a recent break-and-enter at a residence in North Perth.According to police on May 18, officers began an investigation into a break-and-enter that had occurred at a residence on Perth Line 86 between May 16 and May 18.Investigators determined that numerous items were stolen from the home, as well as a vehicle.The stolen vehicle is described as a 2006 black Honda Element with Ontario licence plate BZYV540.This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact Perth County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
