OPP save capsized kayakers off of Big Bay

Two kayakers are lucky to be alive after capsizing without lifejackets.

At around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called out to the coast of Big Bay.

The OPP's Marine Unit members found four people, two in their kayaks, and two others in the water alongside the capsized kayak.

None of them were wearing lifejackets.

All four were brought ashore and taken to a local hospital due to the cold water.

The OPP is reminding everyone to always wear a lifejacket, as it can be the difference between life and death in situations like this.
