High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

You can expect partly cloudy in the morning, with rain in the afternoon

Two kayakers are lucky to be alive after capsizing without lifejackets.At around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called out to the coast of Big Bay.The OPP's Marine Unit members found four people, two in their kayaks, and two others in the water alongside the capsized kayak.None of them were wearing lifejackets.All four were brought ashore and taken to a local hospital due to the cold water.The OPP is reminding everyone to always wear a lifejacket, as it can be the difference between life and death in situations like this.
