High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Police have arrested and charged one person following what authorities are calling a "vandalism spree" in Arthur.On May 25 at 5:45 a.m., Wellington County OPP officers responded to a call about a person who was allegedly breaking windows along Main Street in Arthur.Police arrived at the scene and located the suspect and placed them under arrest. Five local businesses and two residences were damaged.As a result, a 45-year-old man of no fixed address is charged with seven counts of mischief-destroys or damages property.Anyone with any further information regarding this incident should contact Wellington County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
